Handcrafted Ceramics: Slump Molds & Trays Workshop
Discover the joy of working with clay in this beginner-friendly ceramics class, open to all ages! Whether you’re new to ceramics or looking to expand your skills, this four-week workshop at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center is the perfect place to start.

What You’ll Learn
Ceramics Basics: Get hands-on with clay as you learn essential techniques for shaping, molding, and decorating your pieces.
Creating Slump Molds: Design and craft your own custom slump molds to shape beautiful and functional trays and dishes.
Surface Techniques: Explore creative ways to decorate your creations, from textures to glazing techniques.
Glazing & Finishing: Complete your pieces with vibrant glazes provided at no additional cost.
Class Details
Dates: This is a four-part class taking place on Wednesdays in February (February 5, 12, 19 and 26)
Times: Choose from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Duration: Four sessions over four weeks
What to Bring
Class tools and aprons will be available, but feel free to bring your own or purchase a kit from the instructor.
Clay: Cone 6 clay must be purchased at $2 per pound or brought from home. You can create as many items as your clay and time allow!
Wear close-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
